Genesis 50:21

Verse 21

21Now therefore, do not be afraid; I will provide for you and your little ones.” And he comforted them and spoke kindly to them [Literally: ‘to their hearts’].”

– Genesis 50:21 (NKJV)

“Now therefore, do not be afraid (“truly I say to you; your sins are forgiven you”, “the wrath of God has been satisfied in [M]e”, “you are My Covenant Brothers”, you have confessed and repented of-, and turned from your sin in The Holy Fear of The LORD, let it be unto you as if you had never sinned, for our God is Merciful, Gracious and Abounding In Love and you are His Covenant People [Ps 103]; so: “do not be afraid , for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people” – Luke 2:10)I will provide for you (oh the blessed Christ-like character of Joseph: a true “child of His Father in heaven” [Matt 5:45]; how Faithfully he brings the reality of The New Covenant [Matt 5:43-45] into existence within The Old, in doing the very opposite of what the brothers had anticipated [see Genesis 50:15], namely to “provide for ” as opposed to enslaving or actually murdering them in the spirit of the Old Covenental “eye for an eye” [Lev 24:19-21]) and your little ones (Joseph is moved here not merely by a natural filial affection for his nieces and nephews, but is once again proving his perfect alignment with The Will of God [1 Tim 5:8], his own will beautifully surrendered to all the purposes of God: here most pressingly the provision and protection of the next generation to literally propagate the Tribes of Israel and fulfil The Promise given unto Abraham).” And he comforted them and spoke kind ly to them.” (I beseech you: marvel Dear Friend! Joseph becomes the very embodiment, not only of Christ [Matt 10:40], but of Our Beloved Holy Spirit as he Comforts [John 14:26 KJV] and speaks Kind-ly [Gal 5:22] to the very people who by the standards of worldly wisdom are least deserving thereof. Joseph of course does not operate according to such “wisdom”, but now lives and moves and has his being [Acts 17:28] in the most exalted and deep things of God [1 Cor 2:10].)
