Genesis 50:20

Verse 20

20But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.”

– Genesis 50:20 (NKJV)

“But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it * for good(it is very important to make note of the juxtaposition of 1.) premeditation, 2.) intention [kavanah] and 3.) the end – which the means supplied – here: what the enemy “meant” [ premeditation ] through the brothers [implied] with the intention “to bring about” [as the means of ] evil [the end ] against God’s Anointed One, was utterly supplanted by what The Most High God “meant” [premeditation ] through Joseph [God’s Anointed One; The Christ-type] with the intention “to bring about” [as the means of ] Good – ultimately, far-reachingly, gloriously, to bring many to Salvation: in order to bring it about * as it is * this day (namely, as all can see clearly as it is – manifestly so this day – in a public display where all of God’s enemies are made a spectacle of [Col 2:15], the veritable footstool [Psalm 110:1] of Joseph that he stepped on to raise himself to this very position instilling such fear in you in these very moments, to accomplish the glorious purposes of God: This Is The Day [That The LORD Has Made – Ps 118:24] proving His Sovereignty [Once And For All – Rom 6:10], let us rejoice and be glad in it 😃!)to save many people alive.” (Which brings us to the true crux [literally the root word of crucifixion] of the matter: this standalone verse cuts through the story of Joseph – as beautifully delineated in great detail by The Holy Spirit in the writing of the Scriptures within these past 13 chapters – like the “scissors”, the “two-edged sword” that it is: it is The Cross. Even in its very physical design The Cross cuts through every True Story, through history itself: everything begins and ends with The Cross, The Cross is the fullness of Wisdom, The Cross is The Story Of God and is retold again and again and again throughout all the ages. When the enemy was most certain that he had succeeded in triumphing over God by “killing” Our Lord through people [“you meant evil against [M]e”], he was in actuality himself most defeated [“but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day”], to bring billions to salvation, literally salvaging them out of the enemy’s hand [“to save many people alive”][Col 1:13] Once And For All [“for God so Loved The World – John 3:16].)

* The Threefold ‘Sovereignty of God’ Expressions In This Verse:

1. “God meant it”

2. “bring it about”

3. “it is.” (The I AM of circumstances)
