“Then he charged them and said to them: “I am to be □ gathered to my people (○ see also the “gathering” of ‘The Patriarchs of The Faith’ as briefly expounded upon in Part 1); bury me with my fathers (another confirming distinct ‘Patriarch of The Faith’ affirmation; also see 2 Samuel 7:12) in the cave (“caves” represented throughout Scripture as a place for a True Child to hide in and be set apart unto God – even in His very bosom – whilst within enemy territory [here ‘the world’ as a whole], or when pursued by the enemies of God’s People [see Phil 3:18; also by presently earth-bound “principalities and powers”] e.g. as King David when hiding from Saul [1 Samuel 24], or The Prophet Elijah when hiding from Jezebel [1 Kings 19]) that is in the field of Ephron the Hittite, in the cave (a second “cave” application worth pausing to consider and marvel at is in its representing “the tomb”, first encountered in The New Covenant upon our friend Lazarus’s temporary “raising from the dead”, & ultimately and most definitively “the tomb” of Our Beloved Lord Jesus: the final precursor to the most critically important element at this time and in this place, namely “The Resurrection from The Dead”, that The Patriarchs are about to step into at the conclusion of Jacob’s earthly death; ‘A Profound Truth’ [John 5:28-29] yet veiled at this point in time, but since made abundantly clear to us: ‘The Final Generation’) that is in the field (see “field” as expounded upon below) of Machpelah, which is before (directly preceding . . . ) Mamre in the land of Canaan ( . . . The Promised Land 😊), which Abraham bought ◇ with the field of Ephron the Hittite as a possession (an early play on Israel being God’s ‘Most Treasured Possession’ as will soon be revealed in the unfolding of The Scriptures) for (for precisely such a Holy Purpose as has been discussed herein) a burial place (the earthly gathering and uniting in death of The Patriarchs to precede The Heavenly Ascension and ‘Resurrection From The Dead’). There they buried Abraham and Sarah his wife, there they buried Isaac and Rebekah his wife, and there I buried Leah (“there” x 3 in that specific, pre-ordained, set apart place for such a Profound Purpose, “for such a time as this”). The field and the cave (a direct play on “The Kingdom of Heaven is like treasure [the entrance to which is here the cave] hidden in a field [the field as it stands]” . . . ) that is there (x 4) were purchased ( . . . “for [the] joy over [which] [one] goes and sells all that [one] has and buys that field” [Matt 13:44]; recognise also the theme of the deliberate consecrating of territory by ‘The Blood of The Lamb’ that has purchased the world entire [John 3:16]) from the sons of Heth ◇.” 

Additional Notes :

□ His first utterance “I am to be gathered to my people ” in its most literal-, succinct- & prophetic of a most practical nature-, sense, serves as Jacob’s announcement to the individuals in the room that he is in fact mere moments away from physical death.

◇ The phrase “which Abraham bought ” points to the fact that The Purchase by The Blood of The Lamb is received “through Faith” (Eph 2:8), Faith having come to be known as a substance personified in Abraham [Gal 3:9]. And the phrase “from the sons of Heth ” points to our being Redeemed out of the hand of satan, transferred out of the kingdom of darkness, and in to The Kingdom of His Marvelous Light (Col 1:13) ☺️.
