“And he blessed Joseph, and said: “God, before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac walked, The God who has fed me (in this translation of the blessing we recognise the most intimate function of The Shepherd – as spoken of in the other, the NIV, – namely, the image of the tender hand-rearing of a wee lamb first with Spiritual Milk [1 Peter 2:2], then with The Bread of The Word [Matt 4:4] and ultimately, with Meat [Hebrews 5:14]; the very evidence of which we see here in the man Israel, so sanctified as to impart such a multi-generational blessing on God’s behalf, becoming His Mouthpiece as it were; we furthermore recognise also a childlike gratitude expressed here, wrought out of dependence upon Jacob’s Good Heavenly Father and his deep awareness thereof at this time, as most recently, in the natural, God also brought him out of the most severe and life-threatening famine he has ever known, to be fed by his son Joseph . . . ) all my life long to this day (Faithfully until the very end – be reminded of this for it has recently been tested to the uttermost Beloved Children – Our God is Trustworthy!
