Verses 12-13
“12So Joseph brought them from beside his knees, and he bowed down with his face to the earth. 13And Joseph took them both, Ephraim with his right hand toward Israel’s left hand, and Manasseh with his left hand toward Israel’s right hand, and brought them near him.”
– Genesis 48:12-13 (NKJV)
“So Joseph brought them from beside his knees (still only 🤏🏽 small, dependent, “hiding in the shadow of His wings” [think also of the wings of a theatre prior to coming out centre stage], from that, their father’s special place of fullest surrender to- and deepest reverence for-, The Will of God: on his knees in prayer [Mark 1:35]), and he bowed down with his face to the earth (honouring this great patriarch of The Faith, as The Son honours and submits Himself to The Father). And Joseph took them both (as Representatives of Tribes of Israel of potentially equal Strength, Consequence, Number and Power), Ephraim with his right hand toward Israel’s left hand, and Manasseh with his left hand toward Israel’s right hand (ensuring therein that both The Left Hand – The Mysteries And The Deep Things of God [1 Corinthians 4:1-5] – and The Right Hand – Messianic Revelation, Ruling Power, The Position of Greatest Glory as An Extension of God Himself [Revelation 1:16] – is adequately represented within these Two Tribes), and brought them near him (perhaps the most profound function of The Christ as Mediator : to unite The Father with His People ❤️🔥🙌🏽❤️🔥 in close proximity & blessed intimacy [literally: Matthew 10:7]).”
