Genesis 47:4-6

Verses 4-6

4And they said to Pharaoh, “We have come to dwell in the land, because your servants have no pasture for their flocks, for the famine is severe in the land of Canaan. Now therefore, please let your servants dwell in the land of Goshen.”

5Then Pharaoh spoke to Joseph, saying, “Your father and your brothers have come to you. The land of Egypt is before you. Have your father and brothers dwell in the best of the land; let them dwell in the land of Goshen. And if you know any competent men among them, then make them chief herdsmen over my livestock.”

– Genesis 47:4-6 (NKJV)

“And they said to Pharaoh, “We have come to dwell in the land, because your servants ♡ have no pasture for their flocks, for the famine is severe in the land of Canaan ○. Now therefore, please let □ your servants dwell in the land of Goshen.” (The question is posited from the most humble position of a need-driven desperation that appeals to mercy, but is answered from a position of Love and relationship:) Then Pharaoh spoke to Joseph, saying, “Your father and your brothers have come to you *. The land of Egypt is before you. Have your father and brothers dwell in the best ** of the land; let them dwell in the land of Goshen. And if you know any competent men among them, then make them chief **  herdsmen over my livestock.” (In accepting and wholeheartedly Loving the Christ-type, Joseph, whom God has sent, Pharaoh would then, True to The Gospel, accept and Love all those who “come to Him” * , as this Gospel is a message of Good News that continues to add to Its Family in what already reflects God’s New Covenant Plan of Creating A New Brotherhood that is no longer dependent upon biological first birth bloodlines but The Second Birth Bloodline of Christ [see also John 19:25-27].
Next, it is also worth taking further note of the evidence of Pharaoh’s transformation as he has been transferred into The Kingdom through his Love of- and relationship with- our Joseph, in that he being one they would anticipate to be an enemy of God’s people in such an otherwise overt enemy territory – as Egypt would also continue to be representative of throughout the Scriptures – does not persecute God’s People in the manner already well-established and customary in the region, but seeks rather to operate in the exact opposite spirit: instead of being an instrument of suffering, Pharaoh yields himself to be used of God as an instrument of Blessing 😃, also so emphatically asserted in phrases such as “the best of” ** and “chief” **.
Instead of the irrationality so typical of persecutory rhetoric against The Kingdom throughout the ages, we see rather the fruit of “a sound mind” [2 Tim 1:7] in that Pharaoh recognises the need for competent shepherds not only to herd his flocks in the natural, but is also effectively opening up an invitation and opportunity to evangelise and shepherd his people spiritually 😁.)

Let us also pause to enjoy the beautiful irony here revealing that even though The People of God come begging for food in the natural to sustain them physically in this new territory, they come bearing in their bosom the infinitely superior, more precious Food of The Knowledge of The One True God that sustains spiritually eternally! 😃
