Genesis 47:20-21

Verses 20-21

20Then Joseph bought all the land of Egypt for Pharaoh; for every man of the Egyptians sold his field, because the famine was severe upon them. So the land became Pharaoh’s. 21And as for the people, he moved them into the cities, from one end of the borders of Egypt to the other end.”

– Genesis 47:20-21 (NKJV)

Then Joseph bought all the land of Egypt for Pharaoh (as Our Beloved Lord Jesus came, first to pay The Ultimate Price on our behalf, then also to liberate us unto sacrificing all of ourselves and all of our territories – by His Grace and by His Strength – [“Then Joseph bought”] , that we might truly, truly be reconciled to The Father [for Pharaoh”], able now to enter into His Presence with boldness, seek Him diligently & be rewarded with more of Himself: the very One True God); for every man of the Egyptians (as we behold desperate gentiles awarded so great an opportunity to Live: to grab a hold of True Salvation and Eternal Life offered unto them during this deeply special window of time revealing in part The Glory of The New Covenant, we delight in finding that “every ” man availed himself of So Great A Gift 😃) sold his field (Matthew 13:44), because the famine was severe upon them (so desperate is the condition of man apart from God, in such great need of A Saviour, so inseparably a part of- and upon a man lies his burden of guilt, lest it be removed by The Christ, The Anointed One of God). So the land became Pharaoh’s. (Once this glorious legal exchange has taken place – the curse of sin traded for The Robe of Righteousness – truly, truly we become God’s very own possession: A Holy People unto Himself, covered by The Blood of His Son; His Joyous Inheritance forever.) And as for the people, he moved them into the cities (even the Holy City of God: “In My Father’s house are many rooms; if that were not so, I would have told you, because I am going there to prepare a place for you” – John 14:2), from one end of the borders of Egypt to the other end (across all of Heaven; nay, even all of Creation . . . ).”
