Verses 12-15
“12The sons of Judah were Er, Onan, Shelah, Perez, and Zerah (but Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan). The sons of Perez were Hezron and Hamul. 13The sons of Issachar were Tola, Puvah, Job and Shimron. 14The sons of Zebulun were Sered, Elon, and Jahleel. 15These were the sons of Leah, whom she bore to Jacob in Padan Aram, with his daughter Dinah. All the persons, his sons and his daughters, were thirty-three.”
– Genesis 46:12-15 (NKJV)
“The sons of Judah were Er, Onan, Shelah, Perez, and Zerah (but Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan). (It is important to remember that in the formative years of the establishment of The People of God, The Nation of Israel, Our Father’s Wrath was incurred all the more speedily – even more so in matters directly affecting fruitfulness and the posterity of The Nation, as seen in the disobedience of Er and Onan – for the sake of the longevity and endurance of His People in the long run. The severe punishment by death of Er and Onan which might seem uncharacteristically harsh to some, was in fact an act of Faithful Mercy we are still enjoying the fruit of millenia later. A similar theme is recognised within The New Covenant with Ananias and Sapphira at the establishment of the church.) The sons of Perez were Hezron and Hamul. The sons of Issachar were Tola, Puvah, Job , and Shimron. The sons of Zebulun were Sered, Elon , and Jahleel. These were the sons of Leah, whom she bore to Jacob in Padan Aram, with his daughter Dinah (note the especial care with which the daughter is honoured exclusively and in set-apart fashion as truly, truly “some parts of the body that seem weakest and least important are actually the most necessary . . . the parts we regard as less honourable are those we clothe with the greatest care . . . we carefully protect those parts that should not be seen, while the most honourable parts do not require this special care . . . God has put the body together such that extra honour and care are given to those parts that have less dignity“). All the persons, his sons and his daughters, were thirty-three ☺.”
