Genesis 49:23-24

Verses 23-24

23 The archers have bitterly

grieved him,

Shot at him and hated him.

          But his bow remained

in strength,

And the arms of his hands

were made strong

          By the hands of the

Mighty God of Jacob.”

– Genesis 49:23-24 (NKJV)

The archers (enemy agents, both human and spiritual; recognise also the inverse of the image of Joseph sent forth from The Hand of God as a “bow” to bring salvation – in the “fiery darts” [Eph 6:16] sent forth by the enemy to deter him) have bitterly (pay attention to strong adjectives utilised in The Scriptures, then pause a moment to appreciate the extreme anguish and debilitating torment of such perpetual attack upon mind, heart, soul and even body) grieved (an anguish suffered also by God’s Own Holy Spirit [Eph 4:30], therein likening Them as Kin within this age where wickedness has been given authority to act out for a time in order to fulfil The Ultimate Purposes of The Living God) him (the man Joseph)Shot at (monitored, targeted, aimed for perpetually) him and hated (motivated by a deep hatred finding its focus in Joseph within the constraints of time and place, but ultimately harboured against God In Him, His Hope Of Glory [Col 1:27], as a sure sign of their ultimate destruction [Phil 1:28]) him. But (☝🏽 “but God”, see also Psalm 73:26; Jonah 2:6) his bow remained (ultimately undefeated: hard pressed on every side, yet not crushed; . . . perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed” [2 Cor 4:8-9]) in strength (sustained by God Himself), And the arms of his hands (recognise this phrase which seems anatomically peculiar at first glance, yet is speaking allegorically of the advancement of territory, the reach of righteousness extended with arms that “run over the wall” [verse 22], beyond the hands of Joseph, having become the very Righteous Hands of God that initiate said reaching) were made strong (“but we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be OF GOD” [2 Cor 4:7]) By the hands (as reiterated above) of the Mighty God of Jacob (yes, “be strong In Him”, “in His Mighty  Power” [Eph 6:10], yes, in Him who is here addressed as The God of the here definitively established Patriarch of The Faith; the very one by whose hands [🤯] Joseph is being blessed with Anointed Words of such consequence and Power within these very moments) From there (The Righteous Right Hand of God, The Lord Jesus Christ) is the Shepherd (The One in Whom you abide as His Strength becomes your own: Psalm 18:1 (NKJV)the Stone (The Rock of Ages, “Who Was and Is and Is To Come”) of Israel (of The People of God eternally),”
