Genesis 49:16 & 17-18

Verses 16 & 17-18

16 ”Dan shall judge his people

As one of the tribes

of Israel.”

– Genesis 49:16 (NKJV)

17   Dan shall be a serpent

by the way,

          A viper by the path,

          That bites the horse’s heels

          So that its rider shall

fall backward.

18  I have waited for Your

Salvation, O LORD!”

– Genesis 49:17-18 (NKJV)

“”Dan shall (again, a prophetic certainty) judge (I would encourage you Dear Reader to study the following staggering passages that speak of the Children of God in their capacity as Righteous Judges; having become the very representatives of God Himself in the earth: Psalm 82; 1 Corinthians 6:1-6; Luke 11:29-32) his (very own [1 Cor 6:5]) people As one of the tribes of Israel (not only the first formal confirmation From On High that Jacob’s sons will come to represent The Tribes of Israel, but also the full Revelation of the fact that the ‘Words of Knowledge’ here imparted concern less the people in the actual room within this moment in time, but rather, God’s Chosen People for generations to come; that it is being spoken for posterity’s sake and is of far-reaching, [even eternal] consequence).”

“Dan shall be a serpent (now come to work for the enemy, an unrighteous judge as seen in Psalm 82 . . . ) by the way, ( . . . upon the way of pilgrimage to ‘The Promised Land’, the very Way our Lord has come to embody [John 14:6] and reveal [Matt 16:24]) A viper (personifying the enemy in whose name and service he now operates confirmed a second time) by the path (The Way Everlasting [see also Ps 139:23-24] here also Repeated a second time unequivocally), That bites the horse’s heels (the Revelation received in Genesis 3:15 [“and you shall bruise His heel”], so as to reveal the enemy’s purpose in ultimately glorifying The Son, here again reiterated) So that its rider shall fall backward (in an attempt to tempt ‘The Worthy Pilgrim’ to backslide, or at the very least lose hard-won progress in The Way).

I have waited [Ps 27:14] for Your salvation, O LORD! ” (This last-mentioned desperate cry transcends and eclipses Jacob the man through whom it comes, as it represents the deepest heart cry of The People of God throughout all ages; an utterance from deep within each True Child’s spirit-man under leading of God’s own Holy Spirit [that searches The Deep Things of God even where it is found within His very People – 1 Cor 2:10-11], rendering them able to express this need through precisely such heartfelt groanings [Rom 8:26]. This cry is uttered not only out of a desperate need to see ‘The Anointed One’ – Jesus The Living Christ through whom salvation comes – manifest, glorified and exalted in saving us out of the hand of the devil [in an ultimate sense the other profound Revelation received in Genesis 3:15 reiterated “He shall bruise your head”], but also the desperate need in each earth-bound Child to literally be salvaged from the hand of the devil again and again when so afflicted by enemies – workers of iniquity taken captive to do his will – whilst seeking to persevere and endure on pilgrimage to the end of this age: also see Psalm 27 as a whole.
