Verses 19-22
“19The sons of Rachel, Jacob’s wife, were Joseph and Benjamin. 20And to Joseph in the land of Egypt were born Manasseh and Ephraim, whom Asenath, the daughter of Poti-Pherah priest of On, bore to him. 21The sons of Benjamin were Belah, Becher, Ashbel, Gera, Naaman, Ehi, Rosh, Muppim, Huppim, and Ard. These were the sons of Rachel, who were born to Jacob: fourteen persons in all.”
– Genesis 46:19-22 (NKJV)
“The sons of Rachel, Jacob’s wife, (🤔) were Joseph and Benjamin. And to Joseph in the land of Egypt (we recognise here a cheeky nod to the fact that God’s Will Will Be Done and His Purposes Accomplished even in-, or rather precisely because-, It Is Done in a historically pagan land, amongst a predominantly heathen nation : the colonisation of kingdoms of darkness by The Far-Reaching Arms of The Kingdom of God has been a pervasive theme in Our Story right from the very beginning [also see Romans 10:20-21]) were born Manasseh and Ephraim (set to become Tribes of Israel in their own right 😃 and harbingers of veiled messages throughout Scripture in the meanings attached to their names namely: “God has made me forget entirely my troubles and my father’s house” and “being fruitful”), whom Asenath, the daughter of Poti-Pherah priest of On, bore to him (once again, along similar lines we are reminded that a pagan kingdom and its priests are publically made a spectacle of and put to shame as its daughters are taken as brides to serve the Lineage and Purposes of Our Kingdom; reminded of God’s abundant favour unto Joseph I am furthermore wholly convinced that dear Asenath was most assuredly an altogether lovely young lady in whom The Lord not only sought to bless Joseph with a wonderfully Kind and Gentle wife, and his children with a Good Mommy, but at the same time brought a humble, dear child out of the kingdom of darkness unto True Salvation and transfer into The Kingdom of His Marvellous Light; I also do not think it much of a stretch to surmise that in her earnestness and humility she was erstwhile prompted to cry out to The One True God – even if unsure of which name to call Him by – for rescue [Romans 10:13]). The sons of Benjamin were Belah, Becher, Ashbel, Gera, Naaman, Ehi, Rosh, Muppim, Huppim, and Ard. These were the sons of Rachel , who were born to Jacob: fourteen persons in all (here we see a reminder of another interesting Godly Custom where a Matriarch of The Faith is credited with the children from her own womb as well as the children of her biological children’s seed and the wombs of her lawful [Benjamin’s Wife and Asenath] children’s wombs – namely her grandchildren – who in turn are credited to the Patriarch Jacob – all of which beautifully serves Jacob’s New Name therein truly, truly christening them as The Children of Israel : what a Glorious Full Circle Trajectory!).”
