Verses 21-23
“222 Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom
thou lovest; and offer him for a burnt offering.”
“He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me.
And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me.”
“For Your servant
David’s sake,
Do not turn away the face
of Your Anointed.
The LORD has sworn
in truth to David;
He will not turn from it:
“I will set upon your
throne the fruit
of your body.
If your sons will keep
My covenant
And My testimony
which I shall teach
them,
Their sons also shall
sit upon your throne
forevermore.”
For the LORD has
chosen Zion;
He has desired it for His
dwelling place:
14 This is My resting
place forever;
Here I will dwell, for I
have desired it.”
“21Then you said to your servants, ‘Bring him down to me, that I may set my eyes on him.’ 22And we said to my lord, ‘The lad cannot leave his father, for if he should leave his father, his father would die.’ 23But you said to your servants, ‘Unless your youngest brother comes down with you, you shall see my face no more.’ ”
